DGM RECERTIFIES
RUFBetten

Again confirmed as “Climate Neutral Furniture Manufacturer”

Rastatt, 20.04.2023
RUFBetten has been recertified as a “Climate Neutral Furniture Manufacturer” by the German Furniture Quality Association (DGM). This certification is awarded for continuous commitment to climate protection, which RUFBetten has pursued since 2017 as a member of the Climate Pact for the Furniture Industry. The aim is to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible and to make a positive contribution to the protection of our planet.

Measures that have an impact
RUFBetten has been involved in the DGM Climate Pact for six years. In 2021, the company reached its highest level for the first time and was awarded the title of “Climate Neutral Manufacturer”. To this end, RUFBetten has taken numerous measures in recent years to reduce CO2 emissions and increase energy efficiency.

Investments were made in modern technologies, such as a new extraction system with exhaust air recovery for the carpentry workshop, new compressors and a renovated central heating system. The lighting was converted to LED and photovoltaic systems on the production halls are planned. Business trips have also been optimised and short-haul flights avoided.

Despite these efforts, it is not possible to avoid all greenhouse gas emissions that are produced in the manufacture of high-quality beds. Therefore, these are compensated by supporting internationally recognised climate protection projects in the UN standard and Verified Carbon Standard (VCS). In this way, RUFBetten contributes to the promotion of renewable energies, the reforestation of forests and the improvement of living conditions for people in developing countries.

“We are proud that the DGM recognises our commitment to climate protection and awards us the DGM climate label once again. This is not only a sign of our responsibility towards the environment and future generations, but also a mark of quality for our customers who choose sustainable furniture.” Says Heiner Goossens, Managing Director of RUFBetten.

The company wants to continue to do its best in the future to contribute to achieving the 1.5 degree target.
