DGM recertifies
RUFBetten

Once again confirmed as a “climate-neutral furniture manufacturer

Once again confirmed as “Climate Neutral Furniture Manufacturer” Good news from RUFBetten! The German Furniture Quality Association (DGM) has once again awarded us the title of “Climate Neutral Furniture Manufacturer”. This is a nice recognition for the efforts we have made since joining the Climate Pact for the Furniture Industry in 2017. Since then, we have been working continuously to reduce our ecological footprint and actively do our part to protect our planet.
Our efforts are having an impact. We have now been part of the DGM Climate Pact for six years and in 2021 we even reached the highest rank – as a “Climate Neutral Manufacturer”. For this, we have really moved a lot in the last few years. To reduce our CO2 emissions and improve our energy efficiency, we have invested in modern technologies. New extraction systems in our joinery, modernised compressors and central heating systems are just a few examples. And we have even converted the lighting to LEDs and are planning to install photovoltaic systems on our production halls.
We are also environmentally conscious on our business trips. We avoid short-haul flights as much as possible and always look for the most environmentally friendly travel options. But we also know that despite our efforts, we cannot avoid all emissions. Especially the production of our high-quality beds still produces greenhouse gases. But here, too, we have a solution: we support recognised climate protection projects according to the UN standard and the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS). In this way, we promote renewable energies, help reforest forests and improve the living conditions of people in developing countries.
The renewed award of the DGM climate label makes us proud and shows that we are on the right track. It is proof that we are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and future generations. And it is also a promise of quality to our customers who choose sustainable furniture.
Our goal is clear: In the future, too, we want to do our best to contribute to achieving the 1.5 degree target.
